Symbolic places were specially chosen as the first Congress of the GIS.
The session took place at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations, a famous French institution teaching languages that span Central Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania.
The concert took place at the Arab World Institute an organization founded in Paris in 1980 by 18 Arab countries with France to research and disseminate information about the Arab world and its cultural and spiritual values.
The Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) and the Bibliothèque universitaire des langues et civilisations (BULAC), were the places of the other activities : an exhibition, a poetry recitation, a film projection.
