2021-2022 : Bourse de terrain commune Cedej/Ifao – Common field
Scholarship CEDEJ/IFAO
Dans le cadre d’un renforcement de leur coopération scientifique, le Cedej et l’Ifao proposent une aide à la recherche doctorale en sciences humaines et sociales pour des travaux portant sur les évolutions contemporaines de la société égyptienne et nécessitant un séjour prolongé en Égypte. Cette bourse s’adresse à des étudiants, quelle que soit leur nationalité, titulaires d’un Master 2 ou équivalent, et justifiant d’une inscription en doctorat à la date du 1er septembre 2021. Elle est également ouverte aux post-doctorant.e.s ayant récemment soutenu leur thèse et à des étudiants en master. Elle n’est pas cumulable avec un contrat doctoral en cours.
In order to strengthen their scientific cooperation, CEDEJ and IFAO offer a financial support for research in human and social sciences on contemporary developments of Egyptian society, requiring an extended stay in Egypt. This scholarship is open to students of any nationality who hold a Master or equivalent and are or will be registered for a PhD at the date of September 1, 2020. It is also accessible to post-doctoral students who have recently defended their PhD thesis and to master students. It cannot be cumulated with a doctoral contract.
Statut, service
Le montant de la bourse est de 12 mensualités de 1 000 euros nets (en plus de l’octroi d’un billet d’avion aller/retour). Le ou la récipiendaire pourra, à son choix, bénéficier de cette bourse pour 12 mois d’affilée à compter du 1er septembre 2021, ou bien pendant 12 mois répartis sur les deux années allant du 1er septembre 2021 au 31 août 2023.
L’attribution de la bourse implique de résider effectivement en Égypte durant cette période et de pouvoir démontrer ses capacités linguistiques (arabe et/ou anglais) ou s’engager à prendre des cours intensifs. Une participation active à la vie de la recherche dans nos institutions sera bienvenue. Le ou la bénéficiaire devra disposer d’une couverture sociale et d’une assurance-rapatriement.
Le.la récipiendaire bénéficiera de toutes les facilités pratiques et logistiques des deux instituts.
The scholarship amount is 12 monthly payments of 1 000 euros net (in addition to the granting of a round-trip flight ticket). The beneficiary may, at his/her option, receive this support either for 12 consecutive months starting from September 1, 2021, or for 12 months spread over two years from September 1, 2021 till August 31, 2023.
This financial support requires that the beneficiary shall reside in Egypt for twelve months and be able to demonstrate his.her skills in arabic and or english or engage to take intensive courses. Active engagement in research activities of both centers is more than welcome. He/She must subscribe a health insurance and a repatriation insurance. He/She will have access to all the practical and logistical facilities of both Institutes.
Procédure
Le dossier de candidature comprendra les pièces suivantes :
— la photocopie d’une pièce d’identité ;
— un curriculum vitae détaillé, en français ou en anglais ;
— Si le/la candidat(e) n’est pas encore inscrit(e) en doctorat : une attestation du diplôme de Master 2 ou équivalent, ou à défaut, une attestation d’inscription en Master 2 pour l’année 2020-2021 ;
— Si le/la candidat(e) est déjà inscrit(e) en doctorat : une attestation d’inscription de son Université pour l’année 2020-2021 ;
— l’exposé du projet de recherche, en dix pages maximum, en français ou en anglais ;
— une lettre de motivation
— deux lettres de recommandation, en français ou en anglais.
Le dossier doit être envoyé au plus tard le 20 avril 2021, à minuit sous forme électronique aux adresses suivantes : direction@ifao.egnet.net et agnes.deboulet@cedej-eg.org. Il fera l’objet d’une sélection par un comité scientifique dédié.

– ID Photocopy;
– A detailed curriculum-vitae in English or French;
– If the candidate is not registered for the PhD yet: a certificate of Master’s degree or equivalent, or alternatively, a certificate of registration for the second year of the MA for the year 2020-2021;
– If the candidate is already registered for the PhD: a registration certificate of the University for the year 2020-2021;
– A research project presentation, in a maximum of ten pages, in French or English;
– A cover letter
– Two recommendation letters in English or French.
